The automotive industry is facing new challenges in the switch to e-mobility when testing drive converters and components for electric vehicles. Manufacturers need a system to test components with the typical capacity of a real driving cycle. To do this, components have to be tested in a driving cycle (e.g. NEDC, Directive 70/220/EEC; Artemis cycle). With the new REO DC testing system REOTRON SMP, driving cycles can be readjusted allowing components to be tested under real conditions. For high power, the DC high-voltage power supply REOLAB 400/420 is also available. Through our experience in the field of railway technology, we have been demonstrating a high level of quality with our testing facilities for many years.
An OEM wishes to test components with the typical capacity of a real driving cycle. Setpoints are currently transmitted from the control computer to the switched-mode power supply modules in 100ms intervals. The OEM wants an “Artemis” test sequence with a time resolution of 100ms. Using special LabVIEW software, the Artemis cycle can be programmed and output in 100ms intervals to the DC source. This makes the test unit also suitable for loads with realistic operating profiles.
