The electrification of mobility continues to advance in all sectors of the economy, with REO components already demonstrating their durability and reliability on a daily basis. These capabilities are of particular importance for heavy vehicles, as the high dynamic forces, adverse environments and intensive continuous operation involved demand excellent quality.
REO has a wide product portfolio with scalable performance available to cater for these specific requirements. One such example are the NTT 9339/375/0.06 sinus filters, which ensure a clean on-board vehicle power supply to electrically operated excavators. Whether there is salty air, fine dust or thick mud, these sinus filters ensure disruption-free and low maintenance operation. The e-motor works more than twice as efficiently as a comparable diesel engine. Unlike the latter, it is also only active when it is actually needed. As a result, no energy is wasted during idling periods. This conserves resources and enables a level of operation that is significantly quieter, more enjoyable and, ultimately, saves money. Starting from their production all the way through to their recycling, e-excavators benefit from a 90% better carbon footprint over the course of their life cycle.
Another practical example of REO components in a modern e-mobility solution is the use of dv/dt filter chokes upstream of air conditioning compressor units on electric buses. The REO CNW M 833/16 filter choke (up to IP66 rating) reliably reduces voltage increases to acceptance levels and, in doing so, protects electrical consumers, such as the sensitive compressors used on electric buses. It also filters out EMC interference at the same time. This results in a longer life cycle and minimised warming.
The filter choke has been specifically designed to work in harsh environmental conditions as well as continuous operation, offering IP54 protection rating thanks to REO’s casting technology.
The practical examples described above demonstrate how REO components have already proven themselves in all kinds of applications. Their reliable and long-lasting operation is also evidence of their quality. It was therefore a matter of course for REO to extend its statutory warranty from one year to two years. This provides worry-free effective protection from system failure or unforeseen expenditure – and at no extra cost to you, our customers. Our safety net is one you can rely on.
