Technology, Safety, Reliability
Top quality and future-proof developments
In order to be able to achieve the best possible level of quality and thereby pursue new developments, extensive quality testing and assurance along with the application of sophisticated analytical methods have always been at the heart of our product development and improvement methods.
A wide repertoire of technologies, testing and inspections along with safety measures ensure we are able to satisfy the most demanding quality requirements. We have a separate Service department in place, whose sole task is to deal with the technologies and testing methods for the components and optimise our processes and products on an ongoing basis.
REO efforts in terms of technical quality are underlined by the fact renowned institutions have awarded us numerous standards and certificates. As an example, REO meets DIN EN ISO 9001:2008, DIN EN 60310/VDE Part 420/IEC 60310, EN 15085-1 to 5, and many others too.
In addition, many of REO’s developments have already been patented, ensuring the inventions our engineers have come up with are also protected by law. Investing in the future.
Air cooled systems often have limitations, especially when the components must be compact. To guarantee efficient cooling, REO has developed a wide range of inductive and resistive components designed to be water cooled.
The use of a water cooling system allows optimal temperature characteristics to be utilised. In addition, the performance and lifetime of the component is improved. In the graphic on the right side you can see – recorded by a thermal imaging camera – the cooling performance of a water-cooled braking resistor. The entire body of the component is utilised in the cooling process.
REO products are used in the most adverse conditions all over the world, in temperatures of more than 40 °C in deserts or at -30 °C in mountainous regions. It is essential that water, salt, corrosive media and mechanical influences such as vibrations or oscillations do not have a negative impact. REO’s heavy duty components have been specially designed to cope with these environmental conditions.
The Moisture Protection System (MPS) protective coating is an essential element of REO’s insulation system and is one of the greatest USPs of REO’s components. Our specially developed MPS protective coating is available exclusively from REO.
REO products are used worldwide under the harshest conditions – at over 40 °C in deserts or at -50 °C in mountainous regions. Water, salt, corrosive media and mechanical influences such as vibrations or oscillations must not have a negative impact. REO components from the Heavy Duty range are specially designed for these environmental influences. Their special design ensures maximum protection against mechanical, chemical or biological influences and enables high functional reliability and a long service life. Thanks to our experience, REO products are known for being reliable even under the most adverse conditions.
Quality assurance is a top priority at REO. REO products only leave our premises with absolute assurance of quality and performance. In this way, we ensure consistent quality of all products, components and complete solutions and stand for what has always distinguished REO: High quality and robust, low-maintenance products. State-of-the-art measurement technology, always kept up to date, ensures the highest quality of our delivered products. With a clear conscience, we can assume long service lives of over 30 years in some cases thanks to these tests and inspections.
When electrical components are used in environments where powerful external influences may occur reliable protection is necessary to ensure trouble-free operation. To ensure safety of persons and systems, in arduous environments REO provide high Ingress Protection options. The company currently offers a broad range of components in protection classes up to IP 65.
